The Joseph Cebula, Inc. is known as the leader in engineered systems in Western Massachusetts. We believe part of this process is providing exceptional documentation, service and procedures. To prove this to our customers, we became the first engineered systems integrator in the United States to be ISO 9001 and UL registered. Although achieving ISO 9001 was an expensive and time consuming process, we felt it was necessary to insure consistent, long term quality for our customers.

ISO 9001 - Our Customers Advantage!

What is ISO 9000? The Geneva based International Organization for Standardization published the original ISO 9000 Series of standards for quality assurance in 1987. Their intention was to provide guidelines for consistent quality practices across international borders. These standards, which were revised in 1994 and again in 2000, now provide general quality management and quality assurance guidelines, as well as quality system models that can be used by any size company anywhere in the world.

ISO 9001 is responsive to the specific needs of our customers because it addresses the primary non hardware components of a Life Safety System such as design, development, planning, installation and servicing.

ISO registration ensures the customers, specifically the ultimate users of our products', receive installations that are consistently high in quality.

A few advantages...

Design of Systems: As the complexity of today's Life Safety, Security and Communication Systems continues to increase, it has become more and more difficult for Design Professionals to remain current with the latest code changes and system features. As a result, End Users are looking to Cebula Electronics Corp. to participate more than ever in the system design and configuration.

The stringent requirements in ISO 9001 as they relate to design review, verification and validation result in meticulously maintained records for each project as well as a "third party audit" every six months by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.

Procurement: ISO 9001 requires good supplier control and management of the procurement process. This ensures the End User that his system hardware will be delivered as ordered, when required, at the best price available and that it will be backed up by a comprehensive spare parts management system.

Contract Review, Installation, Inspection/Testing & Service: There are clear requirements in ISO 9001 for reviewing and compliance with contracts. The internal and third party audits ensure that contract requirements, either in schedule or performance are not violated.

Irrespective of the requirements of the AHJ, (Authority Having Jurisdiction) there are clear requirements for the testing and verification and required by the standard. These test records are audited by third party auditors every 6 months.

Training: The stringent requirements of ISO 9001 require specific training for all personnel who support customers. This ensures the End User that all Technical Personnel assigned to their projects and systems are fully qualified.

Corrective/Preventative Actions & Follow Up: ISO 9001 has clear requirements, in fact the strongest language in the standard, for taking prompt corrective and preventative actions on any customer related issue. The End User can be assured that any issue relating to his installation, be it service or product related, will be investigated and the necessary action taken.

Monitoring/Manning & Other Services: Monitoring and other support activities are compliant like all other internal functions in the eyes of ISO 9001. Any deficiency is handled through the Corrective Action process.

From the above examples, it is clear that many of the clauses of the standard focus on the relationship between the supplier (Joseph Cebula, Inc.) and their customer. Simply, ISO 9001 helps suppliers demonstrate their capabilities while helping purchasers obtain a higher degree of confidence that delivered products and services will consistently meet their expectations and requirements.
